The ambience of the site is very special - relaxed and informal, quiet, peaceful, the sounds of gurgling water day and night, softly playing music whilst visiting the shower and wash rooms - everything taken care of - and how very beautiful it all is! To be so close to the big mountains, to see them early morning and late evening - in good weather and bad weather - we loved it! I liked all the flowers, the happy people, being in a proper village, near to trains and motorways, everything was so good. Thank you so much. You made a very special holiday for me, and I do hope to return. Wishing you a really good autumn. Merci pour tout ! Et très bonnes les frites et nuggets de Roger !! Un régal !!! En plus de ça une très belle vue sur l'Aiguille du Midi et le Mont Blanc quand les nuages veulent bien s'eclipser ! We were between seasons, ski season over and hiking season not yet begun, in the beautiful Chamonix Valley and there were not many campgrounds operating yet. We pulled into camping des ecureuils in the rain and were welcomed by the host with a smile. The tent sites were spacious, the showers and water closets clean, the dish sinks and recycling center were wonderful and while we didn't test it out, the campground also advertises internet access. And even though we were between seasons, we skied the last day of the season at Les Grands Montets and enjoyed a hike below snowline on one of the nearby trails as well. D'abord avec tente et sacs à dos, puis chemin faisant, dans les chalets (plus simples avec un bébé). Je tiens à remercier Ghislaine et Roger pour leur chaleur et accueil. Tous leurs conseils de randos ont été appliqués à la lettre et mes 4 filles en profitent bien ! Bref, c'est vrai : On arrive en client, on repart en Amis... Et ca fait près de 10 ans que ca dure maintenant !!! Bises à tous les deux ! Nous venons depuis 2001 dans la vallée et plus particulièrement dans ce camping.
